The Threat

The most immediate threat to human civilisation is the failure of modern agriculture as a result of climate change. The early signs of this are already manifesting in the form of increased incidence of extreme weather events causing reduced crop yields in extensive parts of the world.

Without sufficient food the human race will be plunged into famine and conflict over rapidly dwindling resources which will increase the difficulty of continuing to sustain modern supply chains above and beyond the direct damage done by a changing climate.

Due to the physics driving this process we believe that widespread failure of agriculture will be manifest in the near future, and that we are already seeing the early signs of this in damage to crop yields sustained by extreme weather since 2007 but especially in more recent years to 2012 (the time of writing).
